WE Upjohn was an American Industrialist who set up a fund so that
after his death “good works” or philanthropic acts would be recognised
with two things… A cash award and a medallion as a permanent reminder
of the event.
The award was given for my projects related to my storytelling
and cultural exchange visits to Perm Russia. Where I set up some
programmes and an international competion to ensure that contemporary
English materials were available to these very gifted and highly
intelligent students….
